New Balance 600 C-Series

Rad Stuff: While first released earlier this year, I just picked up a pair of the v2 cycling focused trainers from New Balance. The 600 C series was designed in the New Balance Tokyo studio with details to compliment on and off the bike.

The shoe has a sleek silhouette built around a stretch liner that keeps the shoe snug and makes it easy to get off and on quickly. The 600 C-Series all include reflective 3M material behind a perforated synthetic upper and the laces also have reflective thread woven in for added visibility. This all adds up to some added insurance you'll be seen riding at night.

The tongue features a stow away pouch for your laces. This is supposed to keep your laces away from your gears but I love the clean look when the laces are out of sight. Such a smart detail.

The sole of the shoe is a dual compound rubber with the heavier speckled compound on the front for stability and better wear on pedals. The rear of the shoe has a generous pull tab to help slip on the entry.

An out of sight detail that I appreciate the most is the cork insole. These shoes have been rad right out of the box thanks to this cush ride. I'd think about putting these cork insoles in all of my trainers but the cork doesn't breath well. Probably the same reason it's used to cork wine bottles.

The New Balance CT700-C is available now in 3 colourways to choose from.
